farinceuw86talent is talent, i don't think Korea views talent differently. It's just WHAT we are introduced to in Kpop. There are a lot of talented singers but look at the music programs that we watch and who are the pple on them - Idols. Which is sad because that's just catering the masses. as for dancing abilities, I believe all the boys went thru the same lessons. Kwon (or Taec) actually mentioned that Kwon was the one who taught Taec how to dance. The only one who I think didn't go thru the training was CM. The successful "model" of an idol group is slowly being broken down, meaning the 3 categories that you mentioned is slowly losing its power over the viewers. It used to be enough but now no. Why? Because the audience is growing older. It used to be that kpop appeals to mostly teenagers but now we have a lot of fans in their mid 20s onwards and seriously beyond the good-looks, the acrobatic abilities, we appreciate good voice, talents and hard work. of course I believe every idol grp works hard, the hours they have is no joke but not all hard work put in reaped the same amt of returns. Which is why I appreciate 2AM more. They debut as an idol grp but the title "idol" didn't help them much. The rest of it, everyone knows so I shall not repeat myself.

CONGRATULATIONS 2AM... i still have a tiny hope in Korea award shows after last week @twilightelusion..i think domestically people still are bitter after what had happened last year, international fans could give you a second chance but that's it... even with their debut we all know 2PM was given everything, great concept followed by cool hairdos and outfits, a great first video; this will attract people since it plays with our visuals... they did a lot of variety and later were even given their own shows, that factor accompanied by their great scandal last year made them easily more recognizable to international fans.. we all love scandals but apparently not Koreans hehe 2AM... no concept no cool hairstyle or outfits, an MV about them crying and suffering is not going to attract people from the get go.. even with their debut performance JYP wanted them to look poor and didnt give them a "stage" outfit... they havent been promoted as heavily as their brothers, so it will be harder for international fans to get to know them... but now its different, 2AM are getting more recognize... i mean did you hear the screams for them at MAMA, the fans were louder for them than the idols that did show up there are a lot of people who say things like 2AM cant dance, so that means they arent as good or talented as 2PM...what i like to say to that is give both groups a month heck even a year to do what the other is currently doing on stage... then have 2AM sing and dance to I'll Be There and 2PM sing YWAMC or Like Crazy...who will do a better job? REALLY!?!? is their a vid of 2AM at the MAMA? i would love to see 2AM get recognition from the biased awards ^_^

Whenever their names are announced for the categories they were nominated in, the screams were very loud.

Personally, for me, if 2Am won some awards, especially the one base on album sales/download and fan votes, i'm happy for them, but i wouldn't think too much of it. I'd prefer if they have also included the judge panel, like the GDA, but i hope that it should be counted more .. right now it's like 20%, right?
I think that it's been a few years that the idol wave took over the industry, now people start to notice more about the 'music' instead of the 'visual'. I'm not bashing any idol group, but you must admit that idol groups normally rely heavily in the visual, not their 'music'... that's what makes me so proud of 2AM for not giving up their music... and makes me kinda sad for BEGs (sorry, can't stop thinking about Abracadabra)... I think, part of the reason why 2AM can keep going is that they have a powerful backup, like JYPE, but BEGs didn't have this kind of back up behind them... So i hope that somedays, BEGs will return with their old music, their voices are too good to waste in those auto-tune...

I'm really, really glad that 2AM are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Like was said, even though they may not win, the fact they're up there so close is really good! It makes me so very happy that they are being recognized and that people are seeming to start to appreciate their talents.
